Now available from Pirate Brand®, abrasive umbrella kits for portable blasters!  Until now, the only way to get an abrasive umbrella was to purchase one of our stationary blast pots, but with these new kits, portable blasters can have protection from overhead abrasive feeding systems.

Why Are They Important:
When feeding your blast pot from an overhead hopper, extra weight is constantly sitting on the pop-up.  This leads to abrasive becoming embedded into the pop-up and o-ring to the point they can’t seal properly.  When this happens, air will leak around the pop-up and their will be an imbalance in pressure above and below the metering valve (a.k.a. differential pressure). When this happens, the pop-up and metering valve are quickly destroyed.

How They Work:
Abrasive umbrellas are installed over the pop-up and keep the weight of the overhead media from sitting directly on the pop-up and interfering with its operation.

WARNING: To maintain ASME Section VIII Div. 1 - “U” Stamp media Pot, the addition of the Weld-In Umbrella Kit to a Media Pot requires a welding company holding an “R” stamp certification to perform repairs or alterations to boilers and pressure vessels.  Failure to follow this criteria will VOID any warranty, vessel registration, ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and the National Board of which a Media Pot is registered with.

FOR VESSELS WITH 4" POP-UPS.
