CANDLEPOWER VS LUMENS:
CANDLEPOWER IS A MEASURE OF THE PEAK BEAM INTENSITY- THE INTENSITY AT THE VERY BRIGHTEST SPOT, WHEREAS LUMENS, PUT SIMPLY, IS A MEASURE OF THE TOTAL RADIATED LIGHT OUTPUT IN ALL DIRECTIONS.  CANDLEPOWER IS A BETTER WAY TO INDICATE THE BRIGHTNESS OF A DIRECTIONAL LIGHT WHEREAS LUMENS GIVE A BETTER INDICATION OF AN AREA LIGHT. THERE IS NO SIMPLE CONVERSION BETWEEN CANDLEPOWER AND LUMENS DUE TO THE DIFFERENCE IN MEASUREMENT TECHNIQUE.
